St Patrick's FP 8 Wellhouse AFC 1
A TOP performance by St Pat's ensured a massive victory on Saturday.
And the onslought started straight from the kick' off, when Robert Welsh tested the keeper with a rasping drive.
But from the resultant corner the ball was cleared to the mercurial McGrogan, who simply ripped the Wellhouse defence apart.
Currie and Gardiner joined the fun that eventually left Thomas Smith with a twist and turn before despatching the ball into the net.
Then in the 22nd minute more magic from McGrogan left Stephen Gardiner with the time and space to cut the ball past the keeper to increase St Pat's lead.
St Pat's then scored three goals in as many minutes, with the visitors unable to deal with their short, sharp, passing game.
First Martin Currie delivered a cross which Marner smashed home from six yards out, before McGrogan quickly added another.
Then Smith slipped the ball beyond the keeper's grasp.
St Pat's would then end the half with McGrogan taking full advantage of a defensive muddle in the visitor's defensive department.
The visitors finally got some consolation with a looping shot from Robert Welsh that gave Connor no chance.
In the last 10 minutes Alan Galloway found the net for his first goal of the season and then Stephen Gardiner got his second of the day.
The players can now prepare for Scottish Amateur Cup business next week when the Rhu pay a visit. Kick -0ff 2pm
