PLANS are up and running for this month’s Balloch Run’n’Park 2014 Legacy Run.

Taking place on Sunday, September 21, the run carries on the success and legacy of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the great performances of Team GB at the European Championships.

Participants are encouraged to inspire their whole family to get active on a fun day of running in the National Park, and also to make regular exercise a part of day to day family life.

The run will be Maurice Donohue’s 90th half marathon as part of his campaigning and fund raising for the Scottish Association for Mental Health.

Maurice completed his 88th run at the Great North Run on Sunday and his MO GO 50 challenge sees him aiming to complete 100 half marathons in 100 weeks before the end of this year.

The event is free to participate in but if you would like to donate to the SAMH Charity and support Maurice’s 100 Half Marathon Challenge, this can be done by visiting his just page at www.justgiving.com/mogo50moresamh.

Start time will be 12pm and participants are to meet just inside the main gates of Balloch Country Park, which is on Balloch Road, for 11.45am for an event briefing.

The run is free of charge and a route will be marked out to cover the distance of 2014 metres.
