A RECORD breaking wrestling crowd descended on the Meadow Centre in Dumbarton last weekend as Premier British Wrestling came to town.

Four hundred and seventy-five fans packed into Dumbarton’s Meadow Centre for what was the promotion’s debut show in the town.

Five stars from the promotion’s Barrhead Academy performed in the ring, playing a part in what has been dubbed ‘the greatest show yet’.

Spectators were treated to six bouts, with the quality of roster meaning fans’ favourite Grado wasn’t even top of the billing.

On the night TJ Rage and James ‘Darkside’ Scott defeated Noam Dar and Kenny Williams to retain the PBW Tag Team Title.

Lionheart, with Chris Toal, defeated Blaze, who was alongside Charles Boddington, whilst Grado was next up on the bill, bagging the victory over former WWE superstar Rampage Brown.

Star of BBC series Insane Fight Club, Jack Jester, was next out from behind the curtain, winning his tag team match with Krycek, as the pair defeated BT Gunn and Wolfgang.

Lou King Sharp then saw off Stevie Xavier, before the headline PBW Championship match.

The enigmatic El Ligero put his belt on the line against Joe Coffey, but did not disappoint as the pair played out an enthralling encounter.

In the end the defending champion proved too strong for his opponent and managed to keep his hands on the belt for another day.

Ross Watson, owner of PBW, said: “The event couldn’t have went any better, it was out biggest turnout to date.

“Everyone at PBW was buzzing after the show. We can’t thank you all enough for braving the weather and turning out in such large numbers for our debut at the Meadow Centre.

“We would like to thank all the staff at the Meadow Centre for helping us make the event possible.” More information can be found at www.pbwwrestling.com.
