ALEXANDRIA swimmer Ross Murdoch reached the A final in the 100m breaststroke at the Barcelona meet of the Mare Nostrum Series.
The Commonwealth champion came eighth in the final as his friend and swimming rival Adam Peaty claimed another victory.
The Englishman finished first in a time of 1:00.33, he was followed by South African Cameron Van Der Burgh and Canadian Richard Funk.
Murdoch touched the wall in a time of 1:01.57 having qualified for the final in a time of 1:01.62 The Glasgow 2014 gold medallist will get the chance to swim in the pool which saw his greatest triumph at the Scottish National Open Swimming Championships which starts on Thursday, June 25 at Tollcross.
