Dumbarton will open their Scottish Championship campaign at home to Morton when the 2017-18 season gets under way on August 5.

The Sons first away trip of the new season will be away to Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium.

Stevie Aitken’s side will also face all three new sides to the this year’s Championship three weeks in a row.

Play-off winners Brechin and relegated Inverness Caledonian Thistle will visit the Dumbarton Football Stadium on September 16 and 23, before travelling to Livingston on September 30.

The festive fixtures will both be home games, with the Bairns visiting The Rock on December 23, before hosting Morton on 30 December.

The Sons face a particularly difficult run in this year, with their last four fixtures against Dundee United (H), Inverness Caledonian Thistle (A), Falkirk (H), Dunfermline (A).
