Dumbarton manager Stevie Aitken provided an injury update, after a number of his players were ruled out of Saturday's game.

Christian Nade and David Smith both missed the weekend's 1-1 draw with Morton.

Both players had been carrying injuries for several weeks, and Aitken doesn’t know when the pair will be back fit.

The Sons boss also provided some more positive news, with Stuart Carswell expected back soon, and Danny Handling likely to return near the end of the year.

He said: “David’s got a problem with his hip, he’s had it for a few weeks and he’s kept trying to play through it but it’s been gradually getting worse.

“Christian is the same, he’s had a problem with his knee for the last few weeks, and you can probably see that from the way he’s been playing, that he’s been carrying it a wee bit.

“We don’t know how long [they will be out] for.

“Stuart was training last week, he should get the okay from the doctor this week and he should be back playing competitively soon, Danny [Handling]’s been doing light jogging.

“For Stuart we’re looking at two weeks.

“Danny towards the turn of the year, and he’ll be like a new signing for us, because he’ll do well for us I’m sure.”
