ALAN: I'd love a full time post
DUMBARTON interim boss Alan Adamson insists he would love to take on the Sons manager's post full time if he was made an offer.
Before Saturday's defeat to Forfar, Dumbarton were the form team of Division Two and moved to sixth place.
Sons fans have now received a further boost with the news that Adamson, who took over the reigns at the Sons in October from Jim Chapman, is keen to take the job on a long term deal.
Adamson took the job on an interim basis with the Sons struggling at the foot of the Second Division and has since then turned round the fortunes of the club.
Although talks have not taken place with the board, Adamson admitted he would jump at the chance of being made boss on a permanent basis.
He told Sport Scene: "Without doubt I would definitely want the job long term."
Although the team have moved up the table they have played more matches than most and Adamson laughed off any talk of aims to reach the play-offs.
He said: "Trust me, the aim is still to avoid relegation this season.
"They are harder games but the boys will give it a go and hopefully we can continue the run.
"I would just like to say thank you to the fans and I hope we can keep this run going until the end of the season."
