FORMER Dumbarton midfielder Scott Agnew last week completed his switch to St Mirren.
The 27-year-old has followed old manager Ian Murray to New St Mirren Park to make the move into full-time football, signing a one year deal.
Agnew started as a youth player with Rangers before joining Hamilton Accies in 2006. Stints with Alloa Athletic and Ayr United came before a move to Stranraer in 2010.
Agnew moved to Dumbarton in 2011 where he spent four successful seasons making 146 appearances for the Sons, scoring 35 goals in the process.
Scott Agnew told St Mirren’s website: “I am delighted to have signed for St Mirren. I had a few offers from other Championship clubs both full-time and part-time but the possibility of coming to St Mirren with the facilities the club have and to follow my old gaffer to Paisley was one I couldn’t refuse.” Ian Murray added: “Scott was a player we had earmarked early on that could come to St Mirren who knows the Championship well having played in this league for the past three seasons. Scott has the quality to step up to full-time football and do well at St Mirren.”
