At the council headquarters in Garshake Road, the area showed its commitment to an inclusive and equal environment by raising the rainbow flag.

Provost Douglas McAllister and members of West Dunbartonshire LGBT, and Chief Inspector Brian Shaw from Police Scotland, were joined by councillors and staff from the offices.

Provost McAllister said: “I am delighted to raise the rainbow flag in support of LGBT history month. By raising the flag it helps raise awareness and reaffirms the council’s commitment of promoting equality and diversity. Everyone is entitled, and deserves, to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their sexual orientation.
