Talks have opened up between Bellsmyre Housing Association (BHA) and Caledonia Housing Association (CHA).
BHA decided last year to start looking for a partner in an effort to increase investment in the area.
Following a selection process, Bellsmyre picked Caledonia as its preferred partner for ongoing discussions.
John Mulholland, BHA's interim chief executive said: “Our two organisations share similar values and a strong commitment to improving the lives of our customers through the services we provide.” “The possibility of forming a partnership with Caledonia could create exciting opportunities to broaden the range of services available to our customers and improve the quality of the homes that we provide whilst maintaining the association’s identity and local service provision.
"It would also bring mutual benefits for both organisations, for example through sharing expertise and development opportunities. We are committed to putting our tenants at the heart of all major decisions like this and we will consult closely with them as we continue discussions with Caledonia Housing Association over the coming months.” In May, Renton-based organisation Cordale Housing Association partnered up with CHA after it ran into financial difficulties.
