One million extra vistors are expected to be in the area to see the Games, which start with the opening ceremony tomorrow (Wednesday).
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s ‘Get set for Glasgow 2014’ web portal provides advice for staff to ensure patient care is not disrupted.
This includes detailed information on road closures and procedures for staff who are providing services in local communities.
Patients and visitors can also find information on the most appropriate contact for a healthcare issue along with information on transport providers.
Anne Harkness, director for emergency care and medical services, said: “We know the area is going to be busier during these two weeks and we have been preparing for it. We are committed to ensuring that it will be business as usual for the thousands of patients that we see on a daily basis.
“This portal is a great way for our staff to find out information on road closures, parking restrictions and other factors which may have an impact on how they would normally deliver their services.”
