The Vale of Leven Mature Arts Group has secured £1500 of funding from the WEIR Charitable Trust.
Formed in 2010, the group provides access to arts facilities for people living in the Vale to reduce social isolation.
The group is one of many in the Vale of Leven area who have benefitted from the support of West Dunbartonshire Council’s Community Learning and Development Section as well as input from other agencies from across the community.
Anne McCulloch, chairwoman of the group, said: “This funding will allow the group to purchase equipment and materials, as well as capture scenes from around West Dunbartonshire.
“Without the assistance and support from the Community Development Team and in particular Alan Deans for his support this past year over various issues and assisting in obtaining the funding required to be in our current position god knows where the group would be.” The group meets every Thursday in the Alexandria community centre from 10am until 2.30pm.
