TWO hotly-tipped musical acts will perform when the highly-anticipated annual Christmas lights are switched-on in Dumbarton and the Vale this month.

The up and coming band 100 Fables and the solo performer Ryan Alexander will both entertain the crowds who gather for the lights switch-on ceremony at Loch Lomond Shores as well as those in Dumbarton and Alexandria.

Fronted by keyboard player and songwriter Lyndsey Liora, 100 Fables was born from her love of the new wave movement and her passion for the early US punk scene as well as the post punk 80’s electro sound. Lyndsey’s soaring vocals have drawn comparisons with The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. The band produces a powerful high-octane mix that follows in the steps of the acts that have inspired Liora, such as Blondie, Chvrches, The Cars, Le Tigre and of course The Killers.

The band’s single Future Girl is available on iTunes and you can catch 100 Fables when they headline King Tuts in Glasgow on December 5.

Ryan Alexander will provide a stark musical contrast to the sound of 100 Fables at the switch-on. The Dunblane-born teenager has already managed to sell out a gig at Glasgow’s Garage and is tipped for big things. Managed by Glasgow music guru and song writer John McLaughlin, who is responsible for writing and producing seven number ones and 25 top ten hits in the UK, Ryan has been compared to a young Justin Timberlake with a hint of Ed Sheeran about him.

He started off by buying a cheap guitar and took to parks busking before being discovered and meeting McLaughlin.

Ryan’s debut single Aint Got You is set to be released on November 20. You can check out his music at https://m.soundcloud.com/ryanalexanderofficial.

The Christmas lights will be switched on at Loch Lomond Shores on November 15. The Alexandria Main Street switch-on is November 28 with Dumbarton High Street the following day.
