I'VE been a Councillor for nearly 10 years now.

I loved my previous job working in Care, but the challenge of improving things for my whole community as a Councillor is gratifying.

I’m supposed to use this column to tell you all about me and give you a flavour of the things I’d do if re-elected, but there’s a bigger issue that needs teamwork and not just the self-promotion of an election address.

Labour continue to use our hospital for political gain while allowing the Health Board bureaucrats to do untold damage.

As your Health Board representative, Cllr Casey should be fighting for our local services, but only a few weeks ago she tried to nod through plans to transfer out of hours GPs from the Vale to Paisley; and Jackie Baillie once again blames the SNP. It’s shameful.

The Health Board must stop their Glasgow focussed approach to health and start delivering the services our community needs.

Under Labour that will never happen. Labour transferred our A&E, anaesthetics and maternity consultants to the RAH.

A strong team of SNP Councillors will provide effective local leadership.

In my 10 years of service, I’ve become a well-respected Councillor at a national level, and while the solution to our problems with the Health Board are about strong local representation, I have the standing to raise our case with the Scottish Government when required.

For a stronger team serving our community, vote SNP 1 & 2 on May 4th. Visit www.dumbartonvalesnp.scot for more information.
