A 29-year-old man has been stabbed following an argument with two other people on Dumbarton High Street on Mother's Day.

Police are appealing for information following the serious assault at around 8.30pm on Sunday, March 11. 

The incident took place near the Celtic Club hours after the Old Firm at Ibrox. 

The victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital and treated for stab wounds.

Detective Inspector Fiona Macarthur said: “We know there was some sort of altercation between the injured man and two men in the High Street, but the motive for the attack is still unknown.

“I am sure there would have been people out and about around the time of the incident who may have witnessed the incident or has some knowledge in connection with it and I would urge them seen something which could assist us.

“I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”

Officers are checking CCTV footage from the High Street in Dumbarton and the surrounding areas for any additional information it could provide to assist the investigation.

The first suspect is described as a 5ft 9 man, in his 20s to 30s with a stocky build and wearing a tight top, while the other is also described as a man, in his 20s to 30s and with a stocky build.
