THE Friends of Geilston Garden welcomed another bumper crop of visitors to their latest open day at the Cardross attraction.

The day added to a series of events being held at the garden this summer to raise its profile both locally and across the west of Scotland.

Allison Hillis, the friends’ chair, said: “It was a great success and it was lovely to see so many people enjoying the garden.”

Meanwhile, the friends group is hoping that the glorious weather of recent weeks will attract talented photographers to Geilston to enter their 2019 calendar competition.

The competition is open to all members of the Friends of Geilston and to members of the public too.

Entries (typically at least 1MB in size, in landscape format, and with a catchy caption) can be sent to fogphotos2018@gmail.com.

Members of the public are welcome to enter a maximum of three pictures. The closing date is midnight on September 9.
