A CLYDEBANK woman smashed a door causing almost £500 worth of damage, but because the door has not yet been replaced, she escaped having to fork out paying for compensation.

Lindsay Nelson, of Alsatian Avenue, carried out the wilful damage at her neighbour’s flat on January 31.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard last Wednesday how Nelson, 30, behaved in manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear and alarm by repeatedly shouting and swearing and forcing entry to her neighbours house. She repeatedly kicked the front door of the house.

Prosecutor Emma Thomson confirmed to the court that it had cost £80 to carry out initial repairs to the door and the value of replacing the door would be £491.

Her lawyer said that the door had not been replaced.

Sheriff William Gallacher admonished her on the section 38 charge and ordered her to pay £80 in compensation.
