A MAN has been banned from getting behind the wheel for a year for driving drunk near Loch Lomond Golf Club last month.
David Renwick, 32, of Braeside Crescent, Bargeddie, pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week to the incident on July 8 this year, when he was heading south on the A82.
Police were alerted to a possible drink driver just before 12noon on the day.
When officers pulled Renwick over, they found he had 31mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, just over the limit of 22mg.
His defence solicitor said he had consumed alcohol the night before and thought he had left enough time that it would be clear of his system.
Sheriff William Gallacher disqualified Renwick for 12 months and fined him £400.
