A DUMBARTON road was closed for around two hours after a vehicle was allegedly driven at speed into a lamp-post which landed on the carriageway.
Police Scotland confirmed a vehicle drove at speed along Townend Road, at around 3.20pm on September 2 and collided with a lamp-post near to Braehead Primary School.
The vehicle was reportedly written off as a result of the accident, while the lamp-post landed on the roadway resulting in the road being closed for around two hours.
A 40-year-old man has been charged with numerous alleged road traffic offences and will appear in court in due course.
Police in Dumbarton said it was fortunate that the only damage caused was to the vehicle and lamppost and that no-one was injured as result of the incident.
