Animal lovers in Dumbarton and the Vale are being urged to donate toys for cats and kittens being looked after at the Scottish SPCA’s rescue and rehoming centre in the town.
The centre has a large number of cats and kittens in their care, but has hardly anything for them to play with.
Judy Button, the manager of the centre, told the Reporter: “Playing with toys is important for socialisation and entertainment, especially in the young ones.
“Any toys would be great but we’d prefer to receive plastic ones that can be disinfected and reused.
“We hope kind-hearted locals will get behind our appeal as it would make lots of cats and kittens very happy.”
Anyone wanting to donate toys to the centre, which is located on the westbound A82 at Milton, can do so by dropping by any time during the centre’s opening hours, between 10am and 4pm (closed Tuesday).
The centre’s staff have already rehomed more than 150 cats this year.
