A BONHILL man who breached a ‘supervised release’ order imposed after he was jailed for a sustained and brutal attack on his partner won’t have to go back to prison to serve the rest of his unexpired sentence.
Iain Shaw, 28, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last Wednesday where he admitted being in breach of the terms of his supervised release from prison.
Shaw had previously been jailed for head-butting his partner, punching her on the head, knocking her to the ground, striking her on the knee, repeatedly punching her on the head and then jumping on her head and body.
After being told by Shaw’s solicitor, Brian McGuire, that his client had engaged with support workers, Sheriff William Gallacher told the Braehead resident: "There are no provisions in legislation for a review of a breach of a supervised release order.
“You have been doing what is required, but only just.
“You had better comply. Breach it and you will go back to prison."
