A MAN has died in a fire in Renton, police have confirmed.
Police and the fire service responded to a blaze around 11.55pm on Sunday in Glen View and the 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, a spokeswoman for Police Scotland told the Reporter that a post mortem examination would take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, but the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
Paul Devlin is the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Local Senior Officer for Argyll and Bute, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire.
He said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 11.36pm on Sunday, November 4 to reports of a fire within a semi-detached dwelling on Glen View, Renton, West Dunbartonshire.
“Operations Control mobilised a number of fire engines to the scene, where firefighters extinguished the fire.
“Sadly, a man was found to have passed away at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with all of those who are affected at this time.”
