Osaka Kwai Judo Club rounded off their Autumn competitions in style with an eight medal haul at the Cherry Blossom Kyoso in Livingston last weekend.
The Alexandria Leisure Centre based club have been busy over the last two months with a number of competitions all over Scotland.
And despite a hectic morning which saw the contest postponed due to travel chaos, the club eventually got the action under way to win three gold, two silver and three bronze.
First up was eight-year-old Ruth Grey, whose feisty attitude saw her win bronze in her very first competition.
Joe Butler and Arran Graham then came up against each other, with Arran remaining composed to win the silver and Joe settling for bronze.
Robyn Smyth was taking part in just her second competition, and showed some great determination to come through with a hard-fought bronze.
The club had Braydon Wright to thank for clinching their first gold of the day, with the eight-year-old coming out on top in a tough boys’ category, before Liam Foy earned a well-deserved silver.
Skye Kane, 11, fought on despite a bloody nose to win an impressive gold before Darcy Miller, also 11, dug deep to secure the club’s third gold of the morning.
Next up for Osaka Kwai is the Scottish National Championships at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow this Sunday.
