Help is on hand for businesses in Dunbartonshire to help them trade internationally - thanks to an exciting new initiative being run by Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce.

A launch event later this month will kick-off the Chamber's International Trade Programme to help businesses in Dunbartonshire access growth opportunities and expand their customer base across the world.

Damon Scott, chief executive of Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: "International trade offers a huge opportunity for a wide range of businesses to take their product or service to new and growing marketplaces.

"From Ireland to China and everywhere in-between, the value of international trade is immense as more and more nations develop and demand increases.

"With the uncertainty surrounding Brexit now is the perfect time to look beyond the UK and possibly Europe.”

Dunbartonshire businessman, Stephen Mitchell who is an international trade and business adviser with Your Export Consultants, will provide an expert insight into the opportunities, value and practicalities of trading internationally at the launch event on Wednesday, January 30 at Kilmardinny House in Bearsden.

The event, which is being held in partnership with Business Gateway East Dunbartonshire, is designed for businesses who are already involved in international trade but they'd like to develop this or as a starting point for those with the potential to trade internationally.

Dunbartonshire Chamber is a member of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and this event also provides businesses with an opportunity to benefit from the international activities of this group.

Damon Scott added: "The Scottish Government has committed £2 million to the chambers to help Scottish companies to trade internationally as part of their export growth plan.

"This will see a programme of activity, including trade missions, which will help Scottish businesses to access opportunities in international markets.

"Businesses will be able to establish global business links and build exporting capacity utilising our extensive and far-reaching international business network.”
