Volunteers are urgently needed to be mentors to a young person who is being looked after at home.

Intandem Mentoring service at Y Sort It, based in Clydebank, is now recruiting for new volunteers aged 18 and over.

They'd just need to give up a couple of hours per week for a minimum of a year.

Volunteers will be asked to mentor a young person aged eight to 14 years old who is being looked after by their local authority but living at home with their parents.

Intandem was launched in November 2016 and is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Inspiring Scotland.

Lyndsey Coleman, Intandem co-ordinator, said: "Being a mentor would involve taking a young person out for a couple of hours per week building up a relationship and introducing them to new activities in the local community."

There is six-week induction training programme (a total of 20 hours) which starts on Monday, February 18 and mentors will be supported within their role.
