Train services across West Dunbartonshire are facing disruptions and cancellations due to a signalling fault this morning.
Network Rail reported a fault with the signalling system between Airdrie and Bathgate which has had a knock on effect to services across the Central Belt.
Disruptions which have seen some trains delayed by more than an hour, are expected to continue until around 12pm today.
Train services between Edinburgh and Milngavie via Airdrie will be suspended entirely whilst services between Helensburgh and Edinburgh will start and terminate at Airdrie.
Replacement transport is now arriving at key locations including Airdrie, Bathgate and Dumbarton Central.
Disruptions were also felt across the network this morning due to a broken down train which affected services via Balloch, however the train has been moved and affected services relating to this have since been restored to normal.
A Scotrail spokesperson said: "We are sorry that you have been delayed today. You can make a claim if you have been delayed over 30 minutes by visiting ScotRail.co.uk/delay-repay."
