A TOTAL of 41 crimes were reported to police in the past month in Dumbarton East and Centre, their community council heard recently.

The regular update included incidents still under investigation by area cops, with hopes more witnesses will step forward.

In case, enquiries are continuing into a report of alleged counterfeit bank notes at The Coffee Station at Dumbarton Central Station.

Another probe is looking at fraud to do with phone contracts, PC Lucy McNulty told the community council.

A total of 11 reports of shoplifting were made between December 11 and January 13, with seven detected and four people reported to the procurator fiscal.

There are still enquiries ongoing for two attempted thefts and two thefts of wing mirrors and a phone.

In another incident, a woman was reported for a serious assault, while another was subject of a report for attempted fraud.

Four men were reported for drugs possession and there are four cases of vandalism that are still being investigated.

A theft of a blue badge is also being looked at, heard the meeting.

There were a number of driving offences reported as well in the past month.
