Dumbarton's current MSP Jackie Baillie has been reselected by members of the local Labour party to contest the seat again at the next Scottish Parliament elections in May 2021.
Ms Baillie has held the seat since 1999, when she became the area’s first ever female parliamentarian following the inaugural Scottish Parliament elections.
She was re-elected at the last Scottish Parliament election in 2016 after taking 40.2 per cent of votes in the constituency and defeating second-placed Gail Robertson of the SNP by 109 votes.
On Twitter Ms Baillie said: "I've loved representing Dumbarton over the last 20 years, as its first female MSP. I thank members who voted for me to continue to do so."
