The all-star cast for this year’s portrayal of Tim Firth and Gary Barlow’s musical comedy, Calendar Girls, has been revealed.

Joining the previously announced Karen Dunbar as Cora are Ruth Madoc as Jessie, Rebecca Storm as Chris, Sarah Jane Buckley as Annie, Julia Hills as Ruth, Judy Holt as Marie and Lisa Maxwell as Celia.

The award-winning stage show will run at the Glasgow’s King’s Theatre from Tuesday, June 11 until Saturday, June 22 as part of a major UK tour.

It is inspired by the true story of a group of ladies who decide to appear nude for a Women’s Institute calendar in order to raise funds to buy a settee for their local hospital, in memory of one of their husbands.

So far they have raised almost £5 million for Bloodwise, a charity dedicated to funding research into blood cancer.

Calendar Girls shows life in their Yorkshire village, how it happened, the effect on the group’s husbands, sons and daughters, and how a group of ordinary ladies achieved something extraordinary.

The production previously played a six-month London season, as well as dates in Leeds and Manchester.

Barlow and Firth grew up in the same village in the North of England and have been friends for 25 years. With Take That, Barlow has written and co-written 14 number one singles, has sold more than 50 million records worldwide, and is a six times Ivor Novello Award winner.

Tim, meanwhile, has won the Olivier Award and UK Theatre Award for Best New Musical, and the British Comedy Awards Best Comedy Film for Calendar Girls.
