Pupils and staff at Gavinburn Primary are celebrating the installation of their new outdoor obstacle course.

The Trim Trail was officially opened for use last Tuesday by Michelle Donnelly, the chair of the parent council, who cut the red ribbon.

It is a well-deserved reward for pupils after they sang, skipped and laughed their way across the Erskine Bridge in the rain to raise funds for their school last year.

Michelle told the Reporter: “Back in October, our whole school took part in an Erskine Bridge walk in horrible weather, but the kids were amazing and raised over £5,000 for the school.

“The kids decided they wanted a Trim Trail and they helped pick it.

“Not many of the schools in WDC have a Trim Trail, however, due to everyone’s hard work we have been able to officially open ours today.”

Head teacher Marie Wilson was one of the first to have a go - showing the children exactly how it should be done.

Michelle added: “It’s been a great project to be part of as we do so much fundraising for charities, which we love doing, but this time it was great for the kids to have the reward that many of the upper school have been asking for years for.”
