Bonhill Primary pupils had a great time learning about Fairtrade foods recently.
Christine McFie, Asda’s community champion, came along to the school and talked to the children about the topic.
She introduced the pupils to the wide range of Fairtrade fruit on offer, including papayas, plums, oranges and pineapples.
They then had a go preparing and sampling the produce, before blending it into a delicious - and healthy - smoothie.

Head teacher Julie Reilly said: “Our two week celebration has seen all classes participating in active, fun ways to learn about Fairtrade.
“Pupils have extended their learning in maths and literacy by taking part in writing Fairtrade recipes and creating Fairtrade shops, where they are developing their skill in using money.
“Our Fairtrade Committee have been running a daily tuck shop offering Fairtrade products and have organised to take part in the 90kg rice challenge.”
