A TRAIN passenger who allegedly brandished a weapon and threatened other rail users before disembarking at Helensburgh is being hunted by transport police.

An image has been released by British Transport Police (BTP) of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries into the incident, which took place on board a train between Glasgow Queen Street and Helensburgh Central stations at 7.33pm on Friday, December 14.

The suspect left the train at Helensburgh Central and was later seen on a train between Dumbarton Central and Balloch stations.

He was last seen walking in the direction of Station Road towards Back Street, Renton.

Officers believe the man shown in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
