With the help of Repair Cafe Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire-based social enterprise Rag and Bone Projects are hosting their first repair cafe this Saturday.

Residents are encouraged to bring along their broken items, including small electricals, clothes, small furniture and toys to be fixed at the event at Alexandria Library.

There will also be an opportunity to register for the new tool library which will allow people to borrow tools, outdoor toys for kids, and decorating, gardening and camping equipment.

The loan tool library has an annual membership fee of only £20, which works out to be just 38p per week.

The aim of both projects is to share equipment and knowledge in order to reduce our collective environmental impact - and the impact on your wallet.

This weekend’s event takes place from 12-3pm and is free, although donations will be gratefully received.

Those that have already signed up for a tool library membership must bring two forms of ID (a photo and a recent address) and complete and sign the membership forms at this event or at a library session before any items can be borrowed.
