A COUPLE from Dumbarton have clocked up 60 years of marriage.
Betty and Charlie Hannaway were both born in Dumbarton and have lived in the town all their lives.
They married on April 4, 1959 at St Michael’s in Dumbarton and had their reception in the Dumbuck Hotel.
Betty and Charlie have four children, Charles, David, Joan and May, and four grandchildren, Rosalind, Rhonan, Daniel and Liam, as well as two great-grandchildren Orlah and Leo.

Charlie started working life in Claude Alexander’s shop on Dumbarton High Street before later working at the Polaroid factory until his retirement.
Betty had various jobs including usherette in one of the Dumbarton’s cinemas, as well as working in various shops in the town.
Her final job was assisting others as a home help.
Betty and Charlie lived in Bellsmyre for most of their married life, bringing up their family, before moving to Church Court in 2015.
