THE Scottish SPCA is seeking a new home for its longest West Dunbartonshire resident – Drogo the corn snake.

Drogo has been in the care of the staff at the animal rescue centre in Dumbarton for a staggering 890 days.

Manager, Judy Button, said: “Drogo arrived in our care after being found as a stray. In the past he has been a little temperamental, but he has gradually been improving and with an experienced owner and daily handling this should continue.

“Drogo likes nothing better than spending his day coiled up under his newspapers and occasionally peeks out to see what is going on.

“We feel he would be suitable to a home where there is lots of experience with someone who is confident and understands the care he needs.

“Whilst our expert teams are well placed to give these animals the love and care they need; we know nothing compares to a loving forever home.”

Residents are being invited along to the centre for an open day on May 12, between 12pm-4pm, to hear all about the work that goes on, learn about the animals looking for their forever homes and enjoy a day of family friendly fun.

The charity is celebrating its annual Rehoming Week between May 13-19, by hosting open days at all of their centres and aiming to find homes for the longest residents.

Judy added: “Rehoming Week is the perfect time to try and find these pets a loving new home as we’re able to spread the word about all the wonderful animals in our care and share information about the rehoming process with the public.

“Previous open days have proven to be tremendous fun for humans and animals, and we expect this one to deliver fun for all the family.

“We have a treasure hunt, bouncy castle, raffle, police car and fire engine, snake talk and so much more.”
