A MAN who was found in possession of two banned drugs in Bonhill – and who then kicked off at police called to deal with him – has been told to do unpaid work as a punishment.

Ricky McMillan compounded his troubles by twice failing to show up for court hearings.

McMillan, 27, admitted two charges of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs, specifically heroin and cannabis, in O’Hare, near the Ladyton shops, on October 6, 2017.

He also admitted shouting, swearing, threatening violence and uttering grossly offensive remarks at the same location and while he was being taken to Clydebank police station.

He was released on bail after appearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court three days later, but failed to appear at a further court hearing on March 19, 2018.

Despite that no-show, he was granted bail again on April 3 last year – but once again he failed to turn up when his case called at the same court on May 14.

McMillan’s solicitor, Judith Reid, told the court on Friday that a social work report on her client was a positive one.

McMillan, now of Dalmuir Court, Clydebank, was told to do a total of 160 hours’ unpaid work by late November. He will also be supervised by social workers for a year.
