John Sweeney, manager of Sweeney's Cruises, told the Reporter: "The booking came in a couple of weeks ago and we didn't know for sure till the day, although we all hoped it was him. It was quite a nice surprise.

"He was really nice and very chilled. It was his first day off in three weeks, so he was enjoying chatting away with people and kicking back after being hard at it rehearsing.

"He drove the boat for a while and he sat in the wheelhouse, chatting to the skipper for about twenty minutes. He was really approachable."

As well as visiting Loch Lomond, the Wolverine star, also stopped off at Bennie's fish and chip shop in Clydebank, much to the delight of locals.
