A lorry driver who died following a crash on the M74 has been named as Malcolm Easton, 42, from Alexandria.
The accident occurred near Lesmahagow on Thursday evening.
Mr Easton's relatives have been informed.
Police said they received a report of a road traffic collision on the northbound carriageway involving a lorry and a BMW car at around 6.25pm.
The lorry left the carriageway and overturned.
Emergency services attended but Mr Easton, the driver of the lorry, died at the scene.
The 36-year-old male driver of the BMW was uninjured.
An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the collision.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has any information to contact them.
In particular, if drivers have a dash cam they are being asked to check footage as they could have captured information on the vehicles which could assist in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call road policing officers at Motherwell Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 3206.
