THE sun and the crowds came out last weekend to raise money for the needy animals at Milton Animal Home.

The SSPCA’s annual Gala Day raised more than £1,700 for the charity which runs the Milton centre, which was saved from closure last year.

The 60 animals at the home joined in the fun with some of the cats, dogs, rabbits and hamsters even managing to find a new home with one of the visitors.

Manager Joe McDade said: “It went fantastically well — we had a great turnout.

“The money will go to the running of the SSPCA and that will filter down to us as well.”
