Fans of Shakespeare will have a chance to enjoy his best-known tragedy in Cardross next month.
‘Macbeth the Red’ is coming to the National Trust for Scotland’s Geilston Garden on Saturday, June 1.
The performance by the Walking Theatre Company is a unique interpretation of the famous Scottish play, Macbeth, but with a twist.
It tells how First Lady Gruoch Macbeth, granddaughter of the mighty King Kenneth III, takes control and leads her lord on a merry dance.
Publicity for the show says: "Step back through time into a world of magic, murder, intrigue and monarchy as you walk in the footsteps of the real Red King: Macbeth, Mormaer (Earl) of the Province of Moray."
Emma Sweeney, visitor services supervisor with the trust, said: “We’re really excited to welcome the Walking Theatre Company to Geilston Garden as we play host to their exceptional production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
"This performance is not to be missed - either by those with a love of classical plays or those who wish to experience an outdoor production with a difference.”
This promenade performance will take place in areas around the Geilston Garden so attendees are advised to dress for the weather and bring along their own chair or rug.
Tickets can be booked via the National Trust for Scotland's website.
