Visitors to Vale of Leven Academy are being welcomed by a striking, thought-provoking mural at the main entrance of the school.
Matthew Boyle, head teacher, said the artwork reflects the school’s ambitious approach to improvement.
The colourful piece, designed by S3 pupils, Rachel Baxter, Beth Turner, Abby Millan and Imogen Ferguson, is said to encapsulate the positive curriculum and proud ethos of the school.
Thomas McCann, curriculum leader of expressive arts, who conceived the original idea and supervised the project, is delighted that the pupils hard work and vision demonstrates the fabulous engagement that youngsters at the school have with both art and design and the other expressive arts.
The mural is interspersed with uplifting quotations and inspirational images, which it is hoped will be a key talking point for visitors to the school and a motivational backdrop for pupils.
The picture shows Mr Boyle with Imogen, Abby, Beth, and Rachel, Laura Mason, chief education officer, and Mr McCann.
