West Dunbartonshire schools are set to receive £2 million to help close the poverty-related attainment gap.
The area is one of nine authorities to receive a share of the £50 million allocated by authorities from The Attainment Scotland Fund, which was established to support the Scottish Attainment Challenge in 2015.
In a Scotland-wide survey of more than 500 headteachers, 88 per cent said that they can see progress in closing the gap thanks to the continued funding.
