Amidst the recent dreary weather, the sun came out to play as dragon boat teams raced along the bonnie banks from Balloch Castle Country Park last week.

The event, the only one of its kind in Scotland, is organised by Bobath Scotland, which offers advice, help and support to children and adults living with cerebral palsy.

In total nine teams and over 100 people took part in the race’s 19th year, including one team captained by Dumbarton’s Jennifer Whitfield.

In the end it was the Mighty Hills team (above, right), made up of members of Hillhead Jordanhill RFC who emerged victorious.

Stephanie Fraser, CEO of Bobath Scotland, told the Reporter: “We had a fantastic day and we were very lucky with the weather.

"It was great fun and its lovely to see so many people come together and help those with cerebral palsy.”

A great day was had by all with many enjoying barbecues and relishing the upbeat atmosphere of the day.
