Police are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle was stolen from the car park at the Vale of Leven Hospital.

Two further cars were also vandalised while a third was broken into at the same location.

The silver '14 plate Ford Galaxy 4x4 was stolen from the car park between 9.15am and 7pm on Thursday, June 6, while on the same day between 2.40pm and 5pm a car was broken into and had its dashcam stolen.

Following these incidents, between 11pm on June 6 and 8am on Friday, June 7, a blue Volvo XC90 car and a blue Jaguar car were vandalised.

The tyres were slashed and bodywork was scraped, whilst the cars were parked overnight.

West Dunbartonshire Community Policing Inspector Mo Boyle said: “Car crime can have a significant impact on individuals and it is particularly despicable to target cars in a hospital car park.”

“These car parks and the hospital grounds, are usually busy during the day and I would urge anyone who was in the area and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us.”

Police Scotland can be contacted by calling the national non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.

In the wake of the incidents, officers are encouraging car owners to review their car security and to report anyone acting suspiciously in the area.

Make sure your vehicle is locked and secured, don't leave an open invitation for thieves.

Where possible remove all valuables including purses, sat navs, dashcams, tools and other property from the vehicle and keep them at home, in a garage or work premises overnight.
