Pet Warning
Pet owners are being warned against feeding their animals human medications to help them shed weight.
Insurance company More Than found that one in 20 cat and dog owners have given their pets protein shakes, diet pills, or exercise supplements.
However, experts are advising animal lovers against giving pets any products not found in nature due to the potential health implications.
Andrew Moore, of insurance firm, More Than, said: “Giving pets medicines or supplements designed for humans can lead to liver failure and kidney damage among a litany of health complications that arise from seemingly harmless over the counter products.”
