A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Callum Duffy appeared in private at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday charged with the attack, which police say took place outside Captain James Lang pub in Dumbarton.
The 23-year-old was hauled up on charges of assault to danger of life and attempted murder.
Duffy's general address was given in court papers as Wishaw, South Lanarkshire.
The accused made no plea at the initial hearing, and was granted bail to allow for further examination.
No date has been set for a second hearing of the case.
