ScotRail has enjoyed a surge in customer satisfaction in recent months according to an independent watchdog.

The National Rail Passenger Survey conducted by Transport Focus found that 85 per cent of passengers were satisfied with the rail service, the highest of the five large operators across the UK.

Alex Hynes, managing director of ScotRail, said: “Our new timetable is delivering faster journeys, more seats, and more services on brand new and upgraded trains.

“This survey proves that the £475million investment Abellio is making in Scotland’s Railway is paying off.”

Previously, there has been scores of complaints from Dunbartobshire residents.
