The Erskine Bridge is set to receive a facelift after a specialist engineering company landed a four-year maintenance agreement for the landmark.

Spencer Group was awarded the contract by Transport Scotland, with the business already having carried out a series of major works on the structure dating back 20 years.

The £18 million painting programme will be carried out in four phases and involve stripping off existing paint layers, applying new coats and completing repairs.
