A COMMUNITY group is urging residents to support Levengrove Park’s bid to be named the UK’s best park.

Friends of Levengrove Park have nominated the Dumbarton greenspace for the award, which is presented annually by the Fields in Trust organisation.

A £4million project to revive the park has included the restoration of heritage features and the opening of a cafe.

Linda Adam from the group said: “Bounded by the River Leven, the River Clyde and overlooked by Dumbarton Castle, the park is a beautiful greenspace which has something for everyone to enjoy. The park provides recreational, historical, horticultural and educational opportunities amongst others and has active involvement of the community in the park.”
