A DUMBARTON couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently - and received an official visit from a familiar face to mark the day.
Ian and Irene Murray got a nice surprise from one of their daughters - West Dunbartonshire’s Provost Karen Conaghan - when she arrived to officially congratulate them.
Click here for all the latest news in Dumbarton and the ValeThe couple got married in 1969 at St Bartholomew’s Church in Glasgow after meeting through Ian’s sister.
Irene, 74, is originally from Glasgow, while Ian, 75, is from Dumbarton. The couple moved to the area in 1975.
Depute Provost Conaghan told the Reporter: “My sisters thought it would be a nice surprise having me turn up in an official capacity to congratulate our parents.”
